Welcome to the new school year! At #Read4Fun, we have been busy preparing, and we have some exciting new updates to our format and plans for the new year for our #Read4Fun community to share with you all!
1. New Website, New Format:
In response to our growing community of #Read4Fun reading heroes, we decided to take all our the incredible content and update our website. We are hoping this new site can be your "go-to location" for all things #Read4Fun! Here, on our new site, you will find ways to connect, a listing of our weekly chats and archives, information on the #Read4Fun Challenge and our Retreat, and stories about our reading heroes!
With the new school year, we are also moving from our Summer Slow Chat format to our School Year format. Join us every 1st and 3rd Sunday at 7:00-7:30pm for our live Twitter chats on topics focused on #Read4Fun and ways we all connect to books and our community!
2. New #Read4Fun Challenge:
We decided to raise the #Read4Fun bar so to speak with our reading challenge this year. Reading heroes that accept the challenge are invited to read each day for 15 minutes, post for Shelfie Wednesday (either on Twitter or Periscope), complete the Reading Hero interview, and post on our site four book covers that you would recommend. For more information, click HERE.
3. Weekly #ReadingHero:
Each week, we will be featuring a member of our #Read4Fun community on our "A Page with a Reading Hero" blog segment! Learn about the reading lives of our #Read4Fun friends--friends that make this chat so special! To learn more, click HERE.
4. The #Read4Fun Retreat:
You asked and we listened! Let's bring our #Read4Fun community of reading heroes together for fun and celebration! Join us July 9th in Boston for a special #Read4Fun Retreat in coordination with the International Literacy Association (ILA) Conference. To register or to learn more, visit our EventBrite page HERE.
We hope you are as excited as we are for this new school year, and we thank you for your support through this #Read4Fun journey! As we have said from the start, you all are what make #Read4Fun so wonderful! Please be sure to visit our CONNECT page to connect with us on Remind, Voxer, and GoodReads, and we hope to see you at our first Twitter chat of the year on September 6, 2015!
